How to tell if you have Anxiety:

Updated: Aug 6, 2021

Everyone experiences anxiety differently, but here are a few signs you may be suffering from anxiety:

- You are constantly thinking of the "what if's". What if this happens or what if that happens? Your mind gets carried away in fear of the outcome, constantly worrying.

- You may feel it physically in your body as a tightening or burning in your chest, or overall tight muscles throughout your body. Also you may get heart palpitations and increased heart rate leading to panic attacks. This can be even more worrisome for someone with anxiety and confusing when they go to the doctor and they do all the ECG tests only to find out there is nothing wrong. (Always check with your doctor first when experiencing physical symptoms to rule out any physical health concerns).

- You may have difficulty falling asleep at night. Naturally, you will have problems with this if you are in a state of fear or worry and have a hard time relaxing.

- You may be angry a lot and tend to lash out at others. Usually when anxiety builds, and is not dealt with, it comes out as irritability and anger.

These are just a few hallmark signs of anxiety, but if you can relate to some of them I would highly recommend reaching out to a therapist who specializes in anxiety. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit! You can sign up on my home page by filling out the contact me form.
